The Project Manager is a skilled supervisor responsible to work side by side with the producers, logistics, warehouse personnel and production staff to complete the jobs on-time. The Project Manager will work with the Field Scheduling Manager to ensure proper and adequate staffing for each job, manage the on-site labor, evaluate staff regularly, coach on an on-going basis and make recommendations for improvements. It is expected that the Project Manager will supervise all aspects of the job from start to end. The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring the company quality standards are met for each job. Additionally, the Project Manager will be expected to travel as needed to each job site. Work week will be standardized, but may vary depending on event schedules (Sun – Thu, Wed – Sun, Tue – Sat, etc) with weekends and evenings being regularly expected if required for the job and falls within schedule.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

CREW MANAGEMENT

  • Work with the Field Scheduling Manager to ensure adequate skills are planned for the job requirements
  • Manage and train staff on proper techniques, skills, safety and tool handling
  • Ongoing personnel recruitment, selection, training, coaching and counseling
  • Take and recommend disciplinary actions on deserving cases and document accordingly
  • Ensure crew secure company and rented property from warehouse to site and return
  • Review crew hours and approve for submission to payroll

JOB MANAGEMENT

  • Manage entire job from set to strike including management of staff, deliveries, gear and Producer/Client relations
  • Work with Producers to complete and distribute Pullsheets for each job
  • Review all assigned jobs with the appropriate Producer and walk through each job. Use company resources like Flex, ShiftPlanner, and Monday.com to go over the details of each job. The result should be an event checklist to make sure all key elements are covered from an execution stand point.
  • Attend all weekly production meetings on Tuesdays when not on a job site
  • Conduct any site visits deemed necessary or helpful with coordination of Producer, Client and Venue.
  • Complete a Project Checklist and ensure production schedule is allocated in Monday.com appropriately for each job. This will capture all pertinent data related to the job and allocates tasks to staff.

QUALITY CONTROL

  • Conduct regular tests and inspections of the crew’s work to ensure they meet standards
  • Ensure the job is complete to meet company quality standards
  • Must be able to visualize from contracts, pull sheets, floor/site planes and/or CAD drawings how the finished product should look
  • Must have an eye for detail
  • Identify the fastest and easiest way to complete a job without sacrificing quality

COMMUNICATION

  • Confidence to determine, manage and communicate agendas for client meetings and site tours
  • Regular communication with Producers regarding job status
  • On-going communication with warehouse and production to ensure deadlines are met
  • Appropriate communication with management to convey necessary and important information
  • Regular documentation of all Human Resource activities including training/coaching sessions, counseling sessions, accident reporting, safety communications/violations, OSHA adherence and other matters as required

FINANCIAL CONTROL

  • Responsible for managing the job budget as determined by the Producer including internal and contract labor, fabrication, procurement and sub-contractors
  • Make recommendations on purchases and rentals where appropriate
  • Must have the ability to understand budgeting control and analysis on variances and where to make proper adjustments

The ideal candidate should have 5+ years of industry experience in a similar positions. Candidates should have complete knowledge of standard construction procedures, methods, practices, materials equipment, tools, safety standards and precautions. Time management, negation, analytical and problem-solving should be second nature. This position requires a very scrutinizing eye for detail. Strong demonstrated leadership skills with polished motivational methods are a must. Good written and oral communication skills would round out our perfect candidate.
